Vanessa Townsend landed the Micro Veteran Championship with TGF Tanqueray at the Equiyd National Amateur and Veterans Championships held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool.
On-form pairing Vanessa and the 11-year-old mare TGF Tanqueray posted a winning double early in the week to fire a warning shot of their intentions. The pair maintained their form to claim the 90cm Micro Veteran Championship
A big entry of 81 competitors tackled the 90cm course set by Mark McGowan but they were no match for Vanessa over the single-phase track and the pair galloped ahead with 0.62 seconds in hand to take the 2025 title.
Catherine Vale had to settle for second place with NBE Temple La Belle with Jassy Pyke, already crowned 2025 Love2Swim Mini Veteran champion, taking another podium place in third on Bon Amego.
