NAF Star Performance Awards

The NAF Star Performance Awards have been designed to support your progression in showjumping by focusing on 4 Key areas   

By working through each level with a British Showjumping Coach, you will gain knowledge that will help you and your horse to reach your full potential. You can work towards each level through the British Showjumping Academies or one to one with a British Showjumping Coach. To find a coach click HERE and to find your nearest Academy, click HERE.

These awards are progressive and cover the important foundations to succeed in showjumping. Whatever your goal in showjumping, working through these awards will improve your understanding of horses, showjumping and give you the skills to succeed. Depending on your age, experience and previous qualifications, you may not need to start at the first level and may be able to enter at a level appropriate to your ability.    

When you complete each award level, complete the star at the back and get your coach to sign before sending a photo to sportteam@britishshowjumping.co.uk. You’ll receive a reward each time you finish a level.   

1 Star   

This is the first step in your showjumping journey. Here you will learn about the sport, key riding and horse care knowledge to set you up for success.    

2 Star    

The next stage in your journey is where you will develop your riding skills and learn more about riding at competitions. You’ll find out more about how to look after horses and how they think and see the world.   

3 Star    

Building on the skills you’ve learnt so far, in this level you’ll learn about planning and preparation to achieve your goals in the sport. You’ll cover important health and behavior information to make sure your horse is ready to compete at their best.   

4 Star    

In this level you will work with your coach to set and achieve a 4-week goal. You’ll cover important aspects of nutrition and how it can improve performance for both you and your horse.    

5 Star   

This level will give you the skills to understand more about your horse’s behavior and how this can affect their training. You’ll improve your technical riding skills and gain more practice setting goals to support your show jumping journey. Once you’ve completed this level, Senior members will be able to claim a free 6 month jumping membership, Junior riders will be able to claim a free 12 month jumping membership.
