Aimee Paxton praises Chapelmill Choirboy in the Pony Silver league 138cm & under Final
Wednesday 04 August 2021
The bar was set high this afternoon by 13 year-old Aimee Paxton from Midlothian, Scotland riding Chapelmill Choirboy as they won the highly sought-after title of Pony Silver league 138cm & under Champions.
Taking place in Championships Arena 2 at the British Showjumping National & Academy Championships 2021 at NAEC, Stoneleigh Park, it was a competitive class where almost half of the riders made it through to the jump off.
Achieving a fast time, rider Aimee was four seconds ahead of her closest contender. A delighted Aimee commented “I was crying when he won, I just wasn’t expecting it!” She continued: “I don’t know how he jumped number 4, he just did amazing and went so fast!”
Today was well worth the long journey down from Scotland for the combination, who have another competition later this week after some down time at a local stable.
Second place went to Nellie Lock and Ellies Miss Chief, and third place to Emily Irvine and Bonnie XIII.
The Bronze and Silver Pony/Rider Combination League was introduced by British Showjumping in 2014 and allows all pony riders to be able to track their progress on a regional and national league table.
