Anthony Condon lands the Winter Grand Prix at SouthView Equestrian Centre

The SouthView Equestrian Centre Winter Classic concluded in style on Sunday, 19 February 2023 with the final Winter Grand Prix. Anthony Condon landed the win riding Patricia Hales’ 13 year old gelding Vincomte.

The starting field of 22 was whittled down as nine combinations produced a first round clear over Gillian Milner’s eleven fence-track, advancing to the jump off. Two riders went on to produce the all-important double clear, Anthony Condon and Thomas Whitaker.

Leaving nothing to chance, Anthony and Vincomte galloped around the jump off to cross the finish in 39.46 seconds, a time that could not be beaten. Finishing two seconds behind the leading combination with the only other double clear, Thomas Whitaker and Amaretto Daisy crossed the finish line in a time of 41.45 seconds.

Despite having the fastest round, a dropped pole saw Paul Barker and Green Grass, owned by Lynne Barker, finish as the fastest four fault round in third place.
