British Showjumping National Championships Unveil Exciting New Third Surfaced Arena at Stoneleigh Park for 2026

The outdoor showjumping season is officially in full swing, and anticipation is already building for the British Showjumping National Championships 2026, returning to Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, from 4th – 9th August 2026.

Grandstand Media, organisers of the Championships on behalf of British Showjumping, are delighted to announce the addition of a brand-new third surface arena for this year’s event – a major development that promises to transform the championship experience for riders, owners and spectators alike.

The introduction of the new arena surfaced by Andrews Bowen brings an exciting, fresh layout to the Championships and significantly expands the opportunities available across the six-day event.

Previously limited by arena space, we can now broaden the competition schedule to better support riders at all levels. The enhanced programme will include preliminary rounds for high-demand classes such as the 1.05m, 1.15m and 1.25m Championships, additional warm-up and amateur classes, and the potential for exciting new classes.

The new arena is also a significant boost for the National Team Championships following the recently announced format updates. In previous years, championship finals were held in the Grand Ring, but teams will now benefit from competing on the brand-new surface arena – a move expected to encourage even greater participation from teams across the country.

The Para Jumping Championship will also take place in the new arena, underlining the Championships’ continued commitment to inclusivity, while providing top-class facilities for all competitors.

Across six action-packed days and three competition surface arenas, the Championships will once again showcase the very best of British showjumping talent.

For many riders, the event represents the pinnacle of the Summer season, with National titles and sought-after Horse of the Year Show International Wildcards up for grabs.

The additional surface is not the only welcome addition to the Championships; competitors and visitors alike will be pleasantly surprised by the refurbished toilet and shower blocks and a refresh to the existing Andrews Bowen surface on the Championship Arenas 1 and 2, enhancing the overall experience for all.

Grandstand Media Event Director, Emma Wardell, commented:

“The addition of the new surfaced arena is a hugely exciting development for the Championships and for the future of the event at Stoneleigh Park. It allows us to create more opportunities for riders, expand the competition timetable and enhance the overall experience for competitors and spectators alike. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to what promises to be an unforgettable 2026 Championships.”

Iain Graham, Chief Executive for British Showjumping, commented:

“We have been working closely with the team at Grandstand over the last few years to find ways to enable the expansion of the National Championships, which will see both this show and our own Club, Just for Schools and Academy Championships benefit from the additional arena. It is also great news to hear about the additional investment that Grandstand are making to the venue infrastructure, which will be appreciated by all those attending.”

Further announcements regarding schedules and classes will be released in the coming months.
