British Showjumping update Friday 9th September 2022

British Showjumping, who are proud to have enjoyed 70 years of Patronage from Her Majesty the Queen, would like to share our position on shows scheduled today and for the weekend ahead; given that in many situations horses and ponies have already been transported to shows overnight, we have asked all organisers to continue as normal.

We will be marking the very sad passing of Her Majesty today with a two minute silence at midday at all UK shows, whilst the team representing Britain at this year’s Veteran European Championships at Darmstadt-Kranichstein in Germany will be wearing black armbands. The Championship hosts there are also flying the union flag at half-mast as a mark of respect.

Once we have full government advice relating to how the official period of mourning and Her Majesty’s funeral will affect everyone in the UK in the coming days we will share further information.

Our thoughts are of course with the Royal family at this time.
