Changes to Summer Pony Showjumping Competitions

Change of Date for the Winter JA Classic Final

The Winter JA Classic Final, originally scheduled to be held at the Winter Pony Finals, South View Equestrian Centre on the Bank Holiday weekend of 29th April – 1st May, has been moved back to 13th May and remains at the South View venue in Cheshire.

As the original date clashed with pony riders qualified for the Final being selected for team duty in Compiegne, France, the decision was made to move the championships to a more accessible date.  In addition to the Final, a warm-up class is also available and open to qualified riders.

“It makes perfect sense and gives all riders a chance to compete in the Final,” said South View proprietor and British Showjumping chairman Charles Britton.

The two classes, warm-up and Winter JA Classic Final, will run on the middle day of the Senior Second Rounds three-day show on 12 – 14 May, with the Senior Newcomers Second Round held on Friday, 12th May and the Senior Foxhunter Second round scheduled for Sunday, 14th May.

“We are very grateful to Charles and Linda for accommodating this change at short notice and hope to see those qualified taking part on the new date,” said British Showjumping CEO Iain Graham.

Scottish Home Pony News

Due to development work being undertaken at Morris Equestrian Centre this Summer/Autumn it has been decided not to run the Scottish Home Pony classes at this time.  However, the Pony Premier will still be taking place on Friday 14th – Sunday 16th July.

The team at Morris apologise for any disappointment this will cause however they are investing into the venue to enable them to offer better facilities for all attending in the future.
