Emily Macfarlane seized victory in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Highfield at Howe

Emily Macfarlane landed the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round with Tharros at Highfield at Howe Equestrian Centre in Fife.
“We used to event but switched to showjumping last year, going fast suits both of us and we’re really enjoying our showjumping but this win was unexpected,” said Emily, who is based in Airdrie, Lanarkshire.
A total of 23 competitors came forward over a 1.05m track with 15 posting first round clears. These were further reduced to nine for the jump-off and, with eight supplying triple clears, the onus was firmly on the clock.
Emily and Tharros proved the quickest.
“I didn’t watch anyone else, stuck to my plan,” said Emily, who eased ahead to score a half a second win.
The Diamond Discovery x Courage II 11-year-old gelding was bought three years ago from a family friend.
“I didn’t have a horse at the time and was riding him to bring him back into work for a couple of months and they let me buy him. We’ve enjoyed our three years together and have both learned a lot,” added Emily, who benefits from training and advice from Richard and Jane Carruthers and Alex Barr.
Morven Pringle claimed second place on Monbeg Take Two and Taylor Grier slotted Morland Van De Vallei into third.
