Emma-Jo Slater takes the top spot in the SEIB Winter Novice Championship Qualifier at Arena UK

The SEIB Winter Novice Championship Qualifiers continued yesterday at Arena UK and the class proved to be popular with fifty-nine competitors starting out over Mark McGowan’s first round track.
Twenty-seven of the starters delivered a first round clear and fourteen went on to keep a clean sheet. With only two qualifying tickets on offer for the Championship Final at the Longines Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead next summer, the clock was once again crucial in deciding who those tickets went to.
Emma-Jo Slater from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire took the top spot on the talented 5 year-old grey gelding Kimba Castello owned by Kim Barzilay. Emma steered the gelding round the eight fence jump off track in an ultra-quick time of 34.60 seconds. Rachael Connor was narrowly beaten into second place on board her own 5 year-old bay mare Isabeau SSB after they produced a double clear in 34.91 seconds.
