Equiyd National Amateur Championship Second Rounds Produce Exciting Competition at Muirmill

The road to the Equiyd National Amateur Championships took another exciting step forward at the weekend as Muirmill Equestrian Centre welcomed competitors for the latest Second Round qualifiers.
Riders took on challenging courses designed by Lee Roebuck, with places in the prestigious finals at Aintree firmly in their sights.
Emily Coxon takes the 85cm honours
The Equiyd 85cm National Amateur Championship Qualifier – Second Round saw 15 rider combinations come forward, with seven producing clear rounds to earn their place in the jump-off.
It was Emily Coxon riding her own Simply Ravella who ultimately claimed the top spot, delivering another clear round in a time of 43.76 seconds.
Abbie Coltart and Jolee III finished just behind in second, also jumping clear in 44.48 seconds, while Aimee Powell-Currie and She's a Secret Joy took third place with a clear in 48.05 seconds.
Helen Mcall doubles up in the 95cm and 1.05m
There was a standout performance from Helen Mcall, who secured victory in both the Equiyd 95cm and 1.05m National Amateur Championship Qualifiers.
Seven combinations contested the 95cm class, with five making it through to the jump-off. Mcall and Ebony WG produced the fastest clear, stopping the clock at an impressive 35.66 seconds to take the win.
Rebecca Douglas and Lavill Roxianna also jumped clear, finishing second in 38.10 seconds, while Alexander Edney and Uno Flamenco took third after finishing on four faults in a time of 34.28 seconds.
Mcall and Ebony WG then returned to the arena for the 1.05m qualifier, where they once again proved unbeatable. Of the 11 combinations forward, just three managed to jump clear in the first round, setting up a competitive jump-off.
Mcall produced another faultless performance to take victory in 31.49 seconds. Lucy Rennie and Django X finished second with a clear in 35.42 seconds, while Nicole Davidson and VMS De Niro Cruise completed the top three in 37.83 seconds.
Lucy Rennie claims 1.10m victory
The final class of the day was the Equiyd 1.10m National Amateur Championship Qualifier – Second Round, with six combinations coming forward.
Three riders jumped clear in the first round, with Lucy Rennie and Nugent HBF, owned by Jim Wilmer, producing the winning performance. The pair delivered a fast and accurate clear in 43.21 seconds to take the top spot.
Millie Elliot and Starfield Blue Eyes followed in second, also clear in 44.31 seconds, while Gillian Anderson and Stand Up completed the top three despite an unfortunate nine faults in the jump-off.
All roads lead to Aintree
With the Second Round qualifiers now complete for Muirmill, the focus turns firmly towards the Equiyd National Amateur Championships at Aintree in November.
For those who have secured their place, the countdown is officially on. With national titles on the line, competitors will now have their sights set on producing their very best performances when they return to the arena at Aintree.
