Hannah Vickery claims top spot in the SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier at Arena UK

The SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier held at Arena UK on Sunday, 4 Dec was won by Hannah Vickery, riding her own Kallio B.
In total, 68 horse and rider combinations came forward to contend the fourth SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier of the season. An impressive 36 combinations jumped clear in the first round, progressing to the jump off which would require both speed and accuracy to take top spot. With only eight to jump until the end of the class, Hannah, from Hampshire, rode tight turns and, taking a stride out to the final fence, piloted the seven-year-old bay gelding around the course for a double clear. They stopped the clock at an impressive time of 30.18 seconds, just 0.04 seconds ahead of Adam Taylor & D Artagnan Z who had held the lead since the start of the jump off.

The SEIB Winter Novice Championship is a popular series made up of ten national qualifying rounds which are held ahead of the Championship Final, which will once again be run during the prestigious Longines Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead (25 - 30 July 2023)
