Hollie Gerken secures second STX-UK Pony Foxhunter Second Round win of 2024 at Chard Equestrian

This weekend saw the STX-UK Pony Foxhunter Second Round at Chard Equestrian.
The competition was intense, and the course proved challenging, with only three riders managing to clear the first round. Heading into the second round the riders knew they were guaranteed a top-three finish and qualification for the Horse of the Year Show Final. However, it was Hollie Gerken aboard Ballycarrow Mirahs Sparrow and Ella Spencer with Rouet Rouge who would be the only combinations to make it through to the final jump-off.
Ella Spencer, riding her seven-year-old chestnut gelding Rouet Rouge, was the first to tackle the final jump-off. Her performance was impressive, as she finished clear in a solid time of 45.66 seconds, setting the benchmark for the remaining competitor, Hollie Gerken.
Hollie and Ballycarrow Mirahs Sparrow delivered a flying round, clocking in at 40.85 seconds, a remarkable 4.81 seconds faster than Spencer. This impressive performance notched their second win of the season in the STX-UK Pony Foxhunter Second Rounds, following their previous victory at Arena UK.
