A Polished Performance ensures Clare Diamond Wins the Nupafeed Senior Discovery Second Round at Dorset Showground

The next Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round of the season got underway at Dorset Showground last week, where 16 combinations came forward to compete for their spot in the final at the British Showjumping National Championships.
These numbers were halved for the final jump-off, and it was Clare Diamond who delivered a standout performance with her own Oco’le TN, their final round clocking in at 42.98 seconds which secured them top spot. This impressive time was exactly one second faster than that of Sophie Little, who earned second place with her own Bos B My Baby. Mollie Smith slotted into third place with Catherine Macbeth’s Whitehawk Impulse, 3.81 seconds in arrears.
“It took us three hours to get to Dorset Showground, and it was very hot, but it was worth the journey in the end, and it was so amazing to win,” said Clare. “I never thought I would, I just went in with the mindset of doing our best, and I was so shocked when they announced I had gone into the lead and was completely lost for words when I won.
“I haven’t jumped for a while, as I gave it up so my children could learn to ride so I’m just getting back into it now. I’m a true amateur and do it all around my kids and working full time. I couldn’t do it without my partner, Sean, it’s as much my win as it is his. He is always there to walk the course with me, talk through what route we should take and help at shows, it really does take a team.
“She’s a great mare; I bought her as a three-year-old and backed her and we’re just taking our time now. She is still only a baby really but has some quirks like they all do. We had to buy her a Shetland friend to stop her jumping out of the field and travel to shows with her. But she’s very sweet and may daughter has even done Pony Club camp on her,” added Clare.
