James Smith takes the win in the British Horse Feeds Speedi-Beet HOYS Grade C Qualifier at Wolsingham and Wear Valley Show

The British Horse Feeds Speedi-Beet HOYS Grade C Qualifiers held at Wolsingham and Wear Valley Show was won by James Smith, from Kirkcudbrightshire riding his own and Jim Wilmer’s 7 year-old bay gelding Prince Malko M.

23 starters came forward to contest the HOYS Grade C qualifying track but only five combinations jumped clear to go through to the jump off. Fence 7 proved to be the problem jump, with the pole falling for more than one rider. Three riders jumped clear, but it would be James Smith who navigate the jump off in the quickest time to take the win, crossing the finish with a double clear in a time of 44.36 seconds.
