Jessica Hewitt wins the Events Through A Lens Talent Seeker, incorporating the 7 Year Old Championship Qualifier at Field House

Field House hosted to the Events Through A Lens Talent Seeker, incorporating the 7 Year Old Championship Qualifier, where horse and rider pairs competed in two challenging rounds. The goal was to navigate the initial 13-fence track cleanly and then complete the second round against the clock to secure a coveted spot in the final at the Horse of the Year Show.

A large field of 65 competitors entered the fray, with 27 successfully clearing the initial track and advancing to the jump-off. An impressive 11 combinations managed to finish on a clean sheet in the jump-off, but it was Jess Hewitt and Sonny Broberg’s Arbitrage who triumphed. Jess piloted the 12-year-old mare to victory, completing the course in 38.62 seconds.

The jump-off proved to be an exciting showdown, with the top three competitors separated by a mere 0.37 seconds. Emily came remarkably close to the winning time, finishing just 0.12 seconds behind Jess, securing second place. John Crippen aboard Bennys Kelly rounded out the top three.

In addition to the top three riders, David Harland and Nicola Wood’s Murchacko Quatro also qualified for the final. Their double clear in a time of 43.93 seconds earned them the spot as the highest-placed 7-year-old in the competition.

These successful riders now look forward to competing in the final at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show.
