KBIS National Club Championships Get Underway in Glorious Sunshine at Stoneleigh Park

The first day of the Academy, Just for Schools & Club Championships got off to a fantastic start yesterday at Stoneleigh Park, with glorious sunshine providing the perfect backdrop for a thrilling day of competition.
The KBIS National Club Championships saw riders of all ages and abilities take to the arena, with championship titles up for grabs across the Senior and Junior sections from 60cm through to 1.00m. With plenty of competitive jumping throughout the day, the atmosphere was electric as riders battled it out for the prestigious titles.
Senior Championships
The KBIS National Club Senior 60cm Final saw Charlie Harper riding Quantocks Best Kept Secret take the championship title, finishing ahead of 22 competitors. Clare Blakey riding The Alchemyst II secured the runner-up spot.
In the Senior 70cm Final, Mia Haf Bowen riding Simbas Pride of Joy produced the winning performance from a competitive field of 34 combinations, with Kiera Wylie riding Vasall B taking second place.
The Senior 80cm Final saw Felicity Lightfoot riding Dexter IX claim the championship against 21 other riders, while Louise King riding Handels Vienna finished runner-up.
Moving up to 90cm, Grace Davies riding Kaleos van Orchid's took the title from a field of 12 competitors, with Laura Fontes riding Silvington Charlie finishing second.
Grace Davies enjoyed a second championship success of the day in the KBIS National Club Senior 1.00m Final, once again partnering Kaleos van Orchid's to victory. Clare Wheat riding St Lucia III took the runner-up position in the class, which featured eight combinations.
Junior Championships
The Junior Championships provided plenty more exciting competition, beginning with the 60cm Final. Katie Barclay riding Trevlad Lock Flower Girl took the championship title from an impressive field of 38 riders, with Matilda Orr riding Rianwyn Jazmyne finishing runner-up.
The Junior 70cm Final attracted an even larger field, with 45 combinations battling for the title. It was Poppy Warford riding Dyffryntanat Intrepid who came out on top, while Jack Thorogood riding Little Turbo claimed second place.
At 80cm, Edmund Finland riding Little George I secured the championship title against 30 competitors, with Ruby Edwards riding RSH Deja Vu finishing as runner-up.
The Junior 90cm Final saw Emily McDougall riding Cullion Kemira take the top spot from a field of 19 combinations. Riley Pearson riding Wyncroft Nollaig finished in second.
Rounding off the Junior championships at 1.00m, Heidi Robertson riding Lackaghmore Avatar claimed the title, with Annabelle Dorrat riding Lackaghmore Vandango taking the runner-up position.
With ten KBIS National Club Championship titles decided on the opening day, there was plenty to celebrate at Stoneleigh Park. Congratulations to all the riders and horses who competed, with some fantastic performances showcasing the enthusiasm, determination and talent of British Showjumping's Club members.
And with more championship action still to come, the Academy, Just for Schools & Club Championships promise plenty more excitement over the coming days.
