Kiarra Hulme wins the SEIB Winter Novice Championship Qualifier at Aintree International Equestrian Centre

Aintree International Equestrian Centre played host to a number of qualifiers including the first of the SEIB Winter Novice Qualifiers during their Winter Classic Show over the weekend. Riders flocked to the popular Liverpool show centre with eighty-five combinations coming forward to take on the track set for them and it was Kiarra Hulme who triumphed.
Course Designer Rafael Suarez set a challenging thirteen fence first round track and faults occurred all across the course with just eighteen combinations managing to successfully complete on a clean slate. The jump-off proved to be a challenge too when only eight went on to produce a double clear. With just two qualifying tickets on offer for the Championship Final at the Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead, West Sussex, the allocation of these was to come down to the clock.
Eighteen year-old Kiarra Hulme from Oldham, Greater Manchester partnered Andrew Hulme’s Z Stef VD K, a 5 year-old Dutch bred gelding by Zirkonium to victory with a double clear in a quick time of 33.80 seconds. Drew Walton claimed the runners spot and the final qualifying place available, she finished with a double clear just 0.37 seconds slower than the winning time with her own MHS Fleetwood Mac, a 6 year-old Irish bred gelding by Quidam Junior I.
