Les Harris accepts Honorary Vice President position

Wednesday 27 November 2019

British Showjumping is pleased to announce that Les Harris has accepted the post of British Showjumping Honorary Vice President alongside Clare Whitaker.

Former Chairman for the association between 2012 and 2019, Les has been actively involved in the sport for the past three decades from initially being an owner and sponsor through to his time as a Committee Member and Non-Executive Board Director before fulfilling two consecutive terms as Chairman. In 2011 Les joined the British Showjumping Management Board and greatly assisted in implementing changes to the constitution, the purchase of the sports new Head Office in Meriden in 2012, the acquisition earlier this year of a National Training Centre at Hothorpe in addition to the ongoing streamlining of the sports existing structure.

Commenting on his appointment Les said “I am delighted to accept the position of Honorary Vice President and continue my alignment with the sport in a formal capacity.  The sport is going from strength-to-strength and I feel extremely proud of not only the position that it is in today but also where it looks set to be positioning itself in the future”.

Iain Graham, Chief Executive of British Showjumping said “We are extremely pleased that Les has accepted the post of Honorary Vice President.  His input within the sport during his time as Chairman has been invaluable and I speak on behalf of the entire Board when I say that we feel fortunate that he wishes to continue adding value where he can”.
