National 1.40m title goes to Mark Edwards

It was a four-way jump off that decided the National 1.40m Championship title, sponsored by Equitop Myoplast, at the NAF Five Star British Showjumping Championships this evening and with all four posting double clears it was the clock that decided the final line-up.

It was Mark Edwards from Cowbridge in South Glamorgan with the 10 year-old bay gelding Montreuxs Tale, owned by Martyn Edwards, who claimed the victory when he put down a very fast time of 39.84 seconds to clinch the lead. Stopping the clock as the only combination that managed to break the 40 second barrier saw them elbow Will Fletcher from Banbury, Oxfordshire with his 15 year-old gelding Persimmon into second place with their time of 40.60 seconds.

Michaela Webb with the 11 year-old Stellar Skylight took 3rd whilst Carron Nicol with the grey ten year-old stallion Finnegan D took 4th.

The NAF Five Star British Showjumping Championships take place between the 3 – 11 August 2020 and further information on the show can be found here  https://bit.ly/3a4cy2Q  and results from all classes here https://bit.ly/2Xzma0M.
