Oliver Fletcher and Hello William take Consecutive Placings in the CSI3* 1.50m Grand Prix in Vilamoura

A fantastic start to 2023 for Oliver Fletcher and Hello William at the six-week Vilamoura Atlantic tour, claiming runner up spot in the 52,600€ CSI3* 1.50m Grand Prix in Vilamoura, Portugal two weeks in a row.

Fending off a talented field of over 30 riders each week, Oliver and 11-year-old Hello William, owned by Lady Pauline Harris and Lady Pauline Kirkham, were one of few combinations to produce the all-important double clears across both classes. The pair rode two determined performances and, taking some incredibly tight turns, crossed the finish line within 1.3 seconds and 0.28 seconds of the respective leaders.

Having partnered in 2018, Oliver and Hello William were part of the Bronze Medal team who represented Great Britain at the Youth European Championships last year, as well as being a part of the winning Nations Cup team in Gorla Minore.

Commenting on his success, Oliver said: “I am absolutely delighted with the horse [Hello William]. He feels in great shape at the moment so hopefully he is ready for some big things this year. He truly is a horse of a lifetime!”
