Riders Shine at South View Equestrian Centre's Small Pony Premier

Last weekend saw ponies and their riders return to South View Equestrian Centre for an action packed small Pony Premier Show, with riders competing to earn a coveted place in a championship final.
Saturday’s Winter 128cm qualifier attracted a strong field of 23 starters, with eight combinations progressing to the second round and four qualifying for the jump-off. Anya Dewey Clark dominated the class with two rides, taking the win aboard Kilcreene Snapdragon with a triple clear in 38.37 seconds, and following up with second place on Jim (Cobid) in 39.19. Alfie Bailey also featured twice, finishing third on Stambrook Belvedere and fourth with Priestwood Special Edition after a competitive jump-off.
The Saturday Winter 138cm qualifier saw 30 starters contest the class, with 13 through to round two and six making the jump-off. Alex Leggott continued his run of success and claimed the top spot with a smooth triple clear on Blossom’s Letterkeen Bettyn, stopping the clock at 36.15 seconds. Amy Capper secured second place aboard Playboy Van De Zoetewei, while Evie Whitaker completed the podium in third with Fifty Fruit, both producing clear jump-off rounds.
On Sunday in the Winter 128cm qualifying class, 23 starters lined up, with 10 advancing to round two and five qualifying for the jump-off, including two rides for Chloe Capper. Michael Kelly took the win riding Ryehall Belle Cotour, finishing on four faults in the jump-off whilst Chloe Capper placed second with Dooneens Electric. Joint third place was shared between Harlow Weik and Hillviews Princess Anne, Eleanor Tonkin with Ashurst Quicksilver III, and Chloe Capper aboard My Little Liesel.
The Sunday Winter 138cm qualifying class featured 27 starters, with eight progressing into the second round and three contesting the jump-off. Lucas McArdle delivered a standout performance, winning the class on Fancy A Baileys with the sole triple clear of the class in 41.01 seconds, as well as taking third place aboard Another Milton. Second place went to Portia Taylor Wilson with Sligo De Mormal after producing the quickest jump-off round but just tapping out a pole for four faults.
The Saturday 128cm/138cm Handicap class saw 22 starters come forward, with 10 qualifying for the jump-off. Arabella Nielson claimed the win from the 128cm section riding Thistledown Joyride, closely followed by Hector Condon and Darth Moll in second. Kitty Pritchard topped the 138cm section, finishing third overall with Alnebury Brandy Boy.
Rounding off the weekend, the Sunday 128cm/138cm Handicap class attracted 16 starters, with six through to the jump-off. Conor Barnes took the win from the 128cm section aboard Bunbury Sun Bonnet, with Noi Dempster finishing second on Cloonturk Gold Dust. Harriet Beaver led the 138cm section, securing third place overall with Bureside Personality.
