Royal Highland Show Set to Deliver Spectacular Showjumping Programme with Over £60,000 Prize Fund

The Royal Highland Show returns to Edinburgh from 18–21 June 2026, promising four action-packed days of top-class equestrian sport, with a total prize fund exceeding £60,000 across a packed programme of classes.

As Scotland's most prestigious agricultural and countryside events, the Royal Highland Show continues to provide a platform for elite competition while championing the next generation of talent. This year's showjumping schedule offers opportunities for riders of all levels, from competitors contesting 1m classes through to established international athletes competing for some of the sport's most sought-after honours.

Taking centre stage will be the prestigious Coutts RHS Grand Prix, boasting an impressive £30,000 prize fund. The class is proudly supported by Coutts, a private bank with a history spanning more than 300 years. Throughout its long-standing heritage, Coutts has supported individuals, families and businesses through every stage and journey of their lives. Providing both private and commercial banking services, alongside bespoke lending, investment management and wealth planning, the bank has built its reputation on long-term relationships and highly personalised service.

The substantial prize fund is expected to attract some of the UK's leading riders and horses, ensuring spectators are treated to world-class competition in the heart of Scotland.

The Royal Highland Show also remains committed to developing future stars of the sport. The Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie RHS Young Masters Championship Final will once again take place in the iconic Main Ring, providing Scotland's talented young riders with a unique opportunity to showcase their skills in front of thousands of spectators. The championship has become a highlight of the show's equestrian programme and plays an important role in nurturing emerging talent within the sport.

Showjumping has become a key attraction at the Royal Highland Show, introducing new audiences to the excitement and skill of the discipline while providing Scottish equestrian fans with the opportunity to watch top-level competition close to home.

Adding further excitement to the programme, the show will host the International Stairway as part of the Scottish leg of the popular series. The class is expected to draw riders from across the United Kingdom, creating a thrilling spectacle as competitors tackle the ever-increasing heights in pursuit of victory.

With classes catering for all levels, from 1m competitions through to international-level contests, the Royal Highland Show continues to offer something for everyone. The diverse schedule ensures opportunities for riders at every stage of their careers while delivering outstanding entertainment for visitors throughout the four-day event.

As Edinburgh prepares to welcome competitors and spectators from across the UK and beyond, the 2026 Royal Highland Show is set to once again celebrate the very best of Scottish agriculture, sport and equestrian excellence.
