Ryan Page Secures First Place in the SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier at Solihull Riding Club

Solihull Riding Club played host to the penultimate SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier on Sunday, 5 February 2023 and it was Ryan Page, from Yarnfield, Staffordshire, riding Zoe Snedker’s My Sweet Heart CL who secured the win.

With only two qualifying places on offer for the Championship Final at the Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead, West Sussex in the summer, 23 competitors came forward to contest for their spot at one of the UK’s most prestigious horse shows.

Proof of the level of talent in the class was evident as over half the field made light work of David Cole’s 1.10m track, bringing forward 13 starters to compete against the clock in the jump off.

Six combinations faultlessly navigated around the jump off course, but it was Ryan Page, piloting the six-year-old grey mare, My Sweet Heart CL, who, with the benefit of a late draw, knew what he needed to do in order to claim the victory. The combination flew to the final fence, crossing the finish line 0.73 seconds ahead of his opponents, clocking a time of 36.20 seconds.
