Scarlet Lilley speeds to an Equissage Pulse Senior British Novice Second Round win with Plot Cruise at Parwood Equestrian Centre

Scarlet Lilley was on a mission in the hotly-contended Equissage Pulse Senior British Novice Second Round at Parwood Equestrian Centre, Guildford, Surrey, to take victory on Plot Cruise.

The original 48 starters over the 1m track were reduced to 27 for round two with an eventual 14 coming through to the final jump-off.  A determined Scarlet and the 6-year-old mare Plot Cruise (Plot Blue x Je T’Aime Flamenco) was not deterred by the strong competition and outpaced her rivals by 0.20 seconds to claim the top spot.

“I was drawn early but played it safe for a triple clear as we had a fence down in the Coombelands qualifier,” said Scarlet. “It was so nice to hear I’d won it.”

Scarlet, 16, from Dorking in Surrey, joined forces with the Plot Blue x Je T’Aime Flamenco six-year-old three months ago, and is owned by Debra Lilley.

“She is so sweet, the loveliest person and so easy on the ground.  She’s a bit sharper at home but in the ring she’s completely focused, she has such a level head on her,” said Scarlet, who is now aiming for Discovery and Newcomers second rounds.

Jane Randall edged Sandy Lane IV into second and Ami Measor filled third place with Mac Luidam.
