Simon Buckley takes the win in the penultimate Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Bicton Arena

The penultimate Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Second Round unfolded on Sunday evening at Bicton Arena. The competition saw 36 horse and rider combinations riding for top spot over a challenging course designed by Rafael Suarez.

Simon Buckley emerged victorious, as he guided Millfield Hickson, owned by Johanna Buckley, to a triumphant treble clear. Buckley's performance culminated in class-winning jump-off time of 50.11 seconds. With no clear rounds preceding him, Buckley knew that a clear round would secure him the lead, guaranteeing at least a third-place finish.

Alicia Page, riding her own Fermoyle Prince I, claimed second place as the only other competitor to achieve a treble clear. Page stopped the clock at 52.31 seconds, just 2.2 seconds behind Buckley.

Mark Edwards took third place with his horse, Tinkers Touch. Edwards was the first to tackle the jump-off, setting the pace with a determined effort despite incurring four faults. His round laid down a competitive marker for the following riders, ultimately securing him a top 3 finish.

the anticipation now builds as competitors prepare for the final second round competition, which takes place at Wales and West.
