Tilly Bamford second in the Pony Grand Prix in Zuidwolde

Tilly Bamford narrowly missed out on victory in the Pony Grand Prix at Zuidwolde aboard the 12-year-old dun gelding Lapislazuli, owned by Carole Bamford. From thirty-five starters, just seven combinations left all twelve fences untouched, including two Brits – Tilly Bamford with Lapislazuli and Noora Von Bülow with Elando Van De Roshoeve.

The second round saw the seven combinations battle it out for victory. With an early clear on the board from Siebe Leemans (NED) and Noriego VD Riloo in a time of 33.08 seconds, the goal for the rest of the field was set. From a mid-draw Tilly Bamford and Lapislizuli negotiated the shortened jump off track to achieve the only other double clear, but couldn’t quite better the time of Siebe and finished in a time of 33.94 to finish in second place. Third place went to Marthe-Louize Dieu (BEL) with Swarovski.
