Worcestershire’s Bryan Smith secures a SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier win at Solihull Riding Club

Making the journey from Malvern, Worcestershire to Solihull Riding Club in Solihull West Midlands, Bryan Smith produced the winning performance to take the SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier from a starting field of fifty-nine determined competitors.
With the two qualification places on offer for this year’s Championship Final which will be held at the prestigious Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead, West Sussex later this summer, a highly competitive class followed. Twenty-nine combinations claimed a place in the jump off with just eight going on to produce a double clear.
On board Sarah Limbrick’s 9 year-old grey mare, Tullagh Rose, Bryan knew he had speed on his side after this combination produced a fast and accurate round to claim their place in the jump off. Keeping an eye on the clock, Bryan and Tullagh Rose stormed in to first place as they crossed the finish line with a double clear in 38.31 seconds.
Joseph Trunkfield took second place riding Armoon, a 6 year-old bay gelding owned by Karen Young. This pair delivered their double clear in 38.66 seconds.
