Adrian Whiteway takes a five-star win at the Stuttgart German Masters
Monday 17 November 2025

Adrian Whiteway got Stuttgart German Masters off to a perfect start with victory in the opening 5* 1.45m class with Charlotte Hughes’ Lana Del Rey.
Thirty-six riders came forward to face an 11-fence, 13-effort track designed by Germany’s Christa Jung but Adrian maintained a smooth, deceptively quick pace on the nine-year-old Cornet Obolensky x Berlin grey mare to comfortable record a 1.10 second win.
“I’ve had her since the beginning of the year and this was her first five-star show. She’d only been jumping 1.30/1.35m previously and just spent time producing her slowly, stepping up to 1.40/1.45m and she won a 1.45m jump-off class in St Tropez in September,” said Adrian. “She’s quite feisty and fiery with her own personality but she’s consistent, incredibly careful and fast and was placed in Saturday’s world ranking class. This was a good warm-up for London next month.”
Laura Renwick is on winning form in Valencia
Laura Renwick maintained her winning form on the Moura Autumn tour in Valencia, Spain, to notch up a winning hat-trick.
A 3* 1.45m winner the week before on this tour, Laura Renwick and If Evers Girl stepped to a 4* 1.45m to record another victory. It was no fluke as 73 riders came forward in this speed class, but no-one was classier or faster than Laura. Guiding the If Ever 111 x Arko III at optimum pace around the track, Laura scooped the win by 0.52 seconds.
The home-bred Cottee scored Laura’s other two wins, taking an early 4* 1.40m two-phase, outpacing 62 challengers by 1.23 seconds. The Asterix E Z x Couleur Rubin 11-year-old went to head a 68-strong 4* 1.35m speed with 2.28 seconds to spare for Laura.
Nicole Pavitt was also a three-time winner as the home-bred Atlas 16 (Goldstar x Fuego Du Prelet) topped two Six-year-old 1.20m classes, winning the first speed by almost three seconds and a two-phase 24 hours later with 1.27 seconds in hand.
Nicole’s other win came in the Five-year-old 1.10m two-phase on the Asterix De Couleur gelding Attendro NB by 0.83 seconds.
Olivia Sponer records a win at Azelhof Jumping in Belgium
Olivia Sponer secured victory in the Stephex 2* 1.45m with the consistent Kockie W at Azelhof Jumping in Belgium.
A big entry of 99 came forward in this 13-fence, 16-effort world ranking class with 26 finding the key for a competitive jump-off. They were no match for Olivia, and she guided the Luidam x Jodokus 10-year-old mare into a 0.32 second win.
Joe Trunkfield scored a hat-trick of wins. The nine-year-old Cashallco (Casallco x Kannan) registered a 2* 1.40m speed win for Joe, outpacing 91 competitors to the top spot with more than two seconds to spare. Alex Bishop slotted Thomascourt Emirates into third.
Joe doubled up with Whisper’s Engima in the Five and Six-year-old classes, the Whisper In The Wind six-year-old winning the initial 85-strong two-phase by 0.79 seconds and going on to head the 84-entry Five and Six-year-old Final over a 1.15/1.25m two-phase track with 0.20 seconds to spare.
Joe also picked up third in the concluding 2* Grand Prix with the eye-catching Corvette VH Reukenis Z. The 71 starters were reduced to 17 for the jump-off, Joe and the Cicero Z Van Paemel x Corland eight-year-old posting another flawless clear to slot into third place on the podium 0.85 seconds behind the winner, France’s Gregory Cottard on Hold Up De Valeme.
Harry Wainwright doubled up in the one-star classes with Pinheiro Beech. The pair fired a warning shot, heading an early 1* 1.30m two-phase, outpacing 61 rivals to take the win by only 0.04 seconds. Harry and the It’s the Business x Cantero 16-year-old went on to claim the 1* 1.30m Grand Prix. Twenty-three of the original 56 riders secured a place in the jump-off but Harry was on form, and he confidently eased into the top spot for a 0.91 second victory. Danielle Farnsworth also posted a double clear for third with Hazelberg’s Mercury.
Polly Gredley was also a 1.30m speed winner, beating 68 competitors to the top spot by 1.51 seconds on the 13-year-old Catoki while Sophie Evans picked up a second place in a 92-horse 2* 1.40m speed with the Tinka’s Boy 13-year-old CSIO Bel.

Lorraine Lock topped the 47-horse Silver 1.25m speed by 0.99 seconds on Billy Gobi to push Keira (KI Pella Horta) and Phillip on Billy Pearl into second and third.
Brits filled the top two places in the Five-year-old 1.20m Final as 63 came forward in this immediate jump-off class, Chris Smith taking the win on Chickatina JL Z (Colorit Z x Grandorado TN) with 1.20 seconds to spare over Alfie Bradstock’s Dakar VDL x Jaguar Van Paemel gelding Prime Time ZL. The consistency of these two meant they shared first place in the MET young Horse Champions Trophy over the tour, both clocking up 89 points apiece, 12 points ahead of their nearest rivals.
