Five Horses Gain Qualification to Contend for the Prestige Italia Big Star Bonus

At Arena UK, 42 horses competed in the last Prestige Italia Big Star Championship Qualifier, vying for their opportunity to contend for the Big Star Bonus at the Prestige Italia Six-Year-Old Championship Final, scheduled to be held at the British Young Horse Championships in Hickstead this August.

The five horse and rider combinations that successfully achieved triple clears were:

STARBUX ridden by David Coombs Gyde

N-CROWN COLONEL OBOLENSKY ridden by Mark Bunting

ALTESSE 2 VN Z ridden by James Ingham

STRIKE A POSE III ridden by Harry Bateman

SIMPLY THE BEST M ridden by Adam Morgan

Participants in the Prestige Italia Six-Year-Old Championship will compete for the Big Star Trophy, a tribute to Nick Skelton’s 2016 Olympic gold medal-winning horse. Horses that have jumped treble clear in any of the four Big Star qualifiers held from May to July have automatically qualified to be eligible for the £1,000 Big Star Bonus, which will be awarded at the Final.
