Honey Vooght Rises to the Top in Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Ponderosa

The Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery – Second Round at Ponderosa Equestrian Centre saw a strong field of 31 rider and horse combinations compete at the weekend, all aiming for a place in the championship final at the British Showjumping National Championships in August.
Course designer Kevin Bull presented a track that tested both accuracy and consistency. After two challenging first rounds, 20 combinations managed to jump clear in both rounds, earning their place in an eagerly awaited jump-off.
It was Honey Vooght riding their own Cicerald who produced the fastest clear in the final, finishing in a time of 43.17 seconds to claim top honours. Close on their heels was Heidi Ford aboard ATMS Chacoas Uno, completing a faultless round in 44.10 seconds to take second place. Rounding out the podium in third was Laura Kirkham with Claro Van De Saffelberg Z, also clear in 45.02 seconds.
The class highlighted the skill, determination, and competitive spirit of all combinations, with riders now setting their sights firmly on the championship final later this summer.
“Colin is seven and I have had him for just over a year and we have jumped up to 1.25m together since then, he is a great horse and as brave as a lion. The courses were nice and rode smoothly, they were good courses to ride. There were a lot of clears with twenty going through to the final jump off, I was drawn eighth and with so many clear it was a fast run in the jump off! Being drawn fairly early it was a bit stressful not really knowing how fast we needed to go. Thankfully, we had done enough! Colin is my first competitive horse so it will be our first time qualifying and competing at the National Championships.
“We have also qualified for the GFS Senior Newcomers second rounds, we would like to try and do some of those towards the end of the season after gaining more experience at that height, it’s our end of season goal to jump those and possibly some 1.30m classes.” Honey said.
