Additional classes to run at the Winter Pony Premier 148cm in 2024

As riders gear up towards the Winter Pony Premier season, they will have two more classes to aim for. 

The 2024 Winter Pony Premier 148cm series will now run two Children-on-Horses classes - open to riders aged 12 - 16 - on Saturday and Sunday of each Pony Premier 148cm show.

The Children-on-Horses 1.10m is a non-qualifier running on both days.

The Children-on-Horses 1.20m – which will also run on both days – is a qualifier for the British Showjumping Spring Championships, scheduled to run at the Winter Pony Finals at South View Equestrian Centre in Cheshire, on 4 – 6 May, 2024.  The top five, disregarding those already qualified, will qualify for the Final.

The Pony Premier 148cm series will start at Morris Equestrian Centre in the first week of January:

6 – 7 January – Morris Equestrian Centre, Scotland

20 – 21 January – Aintree International Equestrian Centre, Liverpool

3 – 4 February – South View Equestrian Centre, Cheshire

17 – 18 February – Bury Farm Equestrian, Bedfordshire

2 – 3 March – Arena UK, Lincolnshire

 

The Small Pony Premier 128/138cm schedule remains the same as previous years with Winter 128cm and Winter 138cm Second Rounds to qualify for the Finals at the Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead, 11-year-old and Under, incorporating the 10-year-old & Under qualifier, 128/138cm Handicap Special qualifiers and the Scope 128/138cm Handicap qualifiers. 

The venues welcoming the Small Pony Premier 128/138cm contenders are:

13 – 14 January – Aintree International Equestrian Centre, Liverpool

27 – 28 January – Morris Equestrian Centre, Scotland

10 -11 February – South View Equestrian Centre, Cheshire

24 – 25 February – Onley Grounds Equestrian Complex, Rugby, Warwickshire

9 – 10 March – Arena UK, Lincolnshire
