British Showjumping Team announced for CSIO4* Sharjah FEI Nations Cup

Following an invitation to compete in the CSIO4* Nations Cup in Sharjah, UAE the following team have been selected to represent Great Britain. The competition takes place between the 2 – 5 February 2023 at the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.

  • William Funnell from Dorking, Surrey with the 11-year-old bay mare Billy Picador owned by The Billy Stud.
     
  • Tim Gredley from Newmarket, Suffolk with either the 11-year-old bay gelding Medoc De Toxandria or the 10-year-old Black Gelding Imperial HBF, both owned by Unex Competition Yard Ltd.
     
  • Donald Whitaker from Barnsley, South Yorkshire with either the 11-year-old bay stallion Luigi Van De Nethe or the 10-year-old grey mare Millfield Colette, both owned by Reitsportanlage Dagobertshausen GmbH & CO.KG.
     
  • Joe Whitaker from Barnsley, South Yorkshire with either his own 11-year-old chestnut gelding Hulahupe JR, or the 10-year-old grey mare Icaterina, owned by Kathy Tansey.

This Nations Cup competition takes place on Sunday, 5 February at 16:30 hrs local time (12:30 GMT). The Chef d’équipe for the team will be Di Lampard.

The GBR showjumping teams are supported by the British Equestrian Federation’s World Class Programme, funded by UK Sport through the National Lottery. The Programme focuses on identifying talent, developing potential and maximising medal-winning performances on the world stage. The teams are further supported by LeMieux, who supply the teams with their saddlepads and rugs.
