British Showjumping’s Pony Squad announced for Pony European Championship

The following youth squad has been selected to represent Great Britain at the FEI Jumping European Championship for Ponies. The competition takes place between 23 – 28 July 2024 at Sentower Park, Opglabbeek (BEL).

Katie Bradburne, from Berkshire, with the eight-year-old bay mare Wetspoint Foreign Affair, owned by Sophie Johnstone.

Hollie Gerken, from Essex, with the 12-year-old bay mare Galaxy V, owned by Jade Gerken.

Cate Kerr, from North Yorkshire, with the 17-year-old bay mare Cindy VI, owned Clare Weightman.

Aimee Paxton, from Midlothian, with the 14-year-old grey stallion Las Vegas VI, owned by Lucy Simpson.

Sophia Rogers, from Essex, with the 12-year-old bay gelding Neil 55, owned by Nicola Rogers.

The Chef d’Équipe for the Pony Squad will be Clare Whitaker.

 

Timetable

The Team and Individual competitions will take place on the following days:

First Qualifying Competition – Thursday, 25 July at 18:45 local time (17:45 BST)
Team Championship – Friday, 26 July at 14:00 local time (13:00 BST)
Farewell Competition – Saturday, 27 July at 18:00 local time (17:00 BST)
Individual Final – Sunday, 28 July at 15:00 local time (14:00 BST)

Team Support

The GBR Showjumping teams are supported by the British Equestrian Federation’s World Class Programme, funded by UK Sport through the National Lottery. The Programme focuses on identifying talent, developing potential and maximising medal-winning performances on the world stage. The teams are further supported by LeMieux, who supply the teams with saddlepads.
