Emma Sargeant flies to a win in the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Second Round at Ashby de la Zouch Show

Emma Sargeant from Gayton, Staffordshire clinched victory in fine style in the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Second Round with Claire Davies’ Gerdelia at Ashby de la Zouch Show in Leicestershire.
Thirty-one contended this second round in the liberally-watered grass ring over course-designer David Cole’s 12-fence track with sixteen coming forward to round two with initial clears.
“The ring was well-watered, the organisers did a great job with the going in this heat,” said Emma.
The raised and shortened course halved the competitors for eight in the final, timed jump-off and Emma had the winning round sewn up with a confident, smooth yet quick round on the Lord X x Orlando 7-year-old Gerdelia.
“She’s a little winner and loves to jump on grass, the course and the going suited us. County shows can be very spooky and there was lots going on here, but she’s chilled and takes it all in her stride,” said Emma, who has produced this mare for the past two years and is now jumping at Foxhunter level.
Three treble clears were provided to claim a place in the KBIS Senior British Novice Final at the British Showjumping National Championships in August.

The British Showjumping National Championships 2018 will be hosted at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire during the 7th - 12th August.
