Harry Bateman Speeds to Victory at Barleylands in Equissage Pulse Senior British Novice Second Round

As we near the halfway point of the 2024 Equissage Pulse Senior British Novice Second Rounds, this weekend saw riders head to Barleylands Equestrian to take on three rounds of competition in a bid to secure their place at the British Showjumping National Championships.

Harry Bateman, riding Alyson Parker’s Knockash Kimberly, kept the competition at bay as the fastest of seven triple clears. Harry, focused solely on the win, finished an impressive 4.49 seconds faster than second place Lauren Roach and Louisiana-S. “The plan was to win. She’s a really good little mare. She’s fast and she’s careful, so I was always just going to go for it,” said Harry.

A relatively new combination, Harry expressed how much he is enjoying riding Alyson Parker’s mare: “I first rode her the other week at Weston Lawns, and she’s just been amazing, a real little winner. She won the Discovery every day. I haven’t ridden her again until Barleylands, and we went out and won again! I am having a lot of fun on this little horse!”

1st - Harry Bateman and Knockash Kimberly - 0/0/0 33.94
2nd - Lauren Roach and Louisiana-S - 0/0/0 38.43
3rd - Olivia Carroll and Moonlight Sparkle II - 0/0/0 40.72

NB: Results pending official grading.
