Hollie Gerken Dominates the STX-UK Pony Foxhunter Second Round at Arena UK

52 qualified ponies took to the ring at Arena UK’s Summer Pony Premier this Saturday, with their sights set on qualification for the STX-UK Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show.
Tackling the challenging first round course, ten combinations successfully navigated their way into the first jump off, where it was evident how much this qualification means to these riders.
In an impressive display of horsemanship, Hollie Gerken delivered a remarkable three of the ultimate four clear rounds achieved in the jump off. Going head-to-head with herself, Hollie managed to secure joint first place for all her three rides in the class: Velini’s Silver Star, Ballycarrow Mirahs Sparrow and Livewire VI.
Hollie’s record at Horse of the Year Show last year, was notable. With Jennifer Hudson’s Ballycarrow Mirahs Sparrow, the combination narrowly missed out on the Pony Foxhunter Championship Title, taking home second place after a thrilling jump off in the Final. Additionally, in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final of 2023, Hollie impressively finished in second and third with Ballycarrow Mirahs Sparrow and Keri Grimster’s Belini’s Silver Star respectively.
Taking the final qualification spot for the Final was Leva Eldridge on Raquel Eldridge’s Clonbolloge Lad, achieving the only other double clear of the this Second Round competition.
