Taking on the challenge of a strong field, Megan Taylor rode to victory in the KBIS Insurance British Novice Second Round at Ashby Show in Swadlincote, Derbyshire on board Debbie Taylor’s Capital Him.
Thirty-one keen starters began the day, all with high hopes of getting a qualification place for the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final, which will be held during the British Showjumping National Championships this summer. Two action packed rounds saw competitor numbers tumble along with the fences until just six combinations were left to battle it out against the clock in the final jump off.
Fifteen year-old Megan from Tamworth, Staffordshire galloped into first place with a truly unbeatable treble clear on board the 6 year-old grey gelding, Capital Him. They crossed the finish line in 40.63 seconds.
Second place went to Kirsty Hardstaff from Newark, Nottinghamshire riding Remi Latika, a 6 year-old bay gelding owned by Carmen Baker. This pair produced the only other treble clear of the competition in a time of 59.37 seconds.
