Natasha Hewitt Takes the Win in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Barleylands Equestrian

The sixth Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round of the season got underway at Barleylands Equestrian this weekend, as riders competed for their spot in the final at the British Showjumping National Championships.

With a 42 strong starting field, 16 combinations successfully tackled Keith Bristow’s first two rounds to continue into the final jump-off. Second to go Natasha Hewitt, set a pace that proved too hard to beat with the Squibb Family’s Lara’s Boy, clearing the course in 39.28 seconds. Jade Wood and Kaeden Lucky Dollar, came within a mere 0.73 seconds of the winning time to secure second place, and their ticket to the final.

Commenting on her win, Natasha said: “The Squibb family bred him out of their mare that they had for 20 years, and I’ve ridden him since he was 3. He’s really special, he’s really careful and really fast.”

Lara’s Boy was not only the fastest of the triple clears, but of the whole jump off. Natasha commented on this, saying: “I was second to go, the plan was to just try and qualify and I got a bit carried away and thought I might as well try and win, especially as he likes to go against the clock.

“He’s really quick and he will always try his best, I know he’s always going to try his best to leave the jumps up, so I thought he would jump clear, but you never know.”
