Nicole Pavitt Takes the Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Wales and West

In a 77 strong field for the Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Wales and West this weekend, it was Nicole Pavitt who came out on top aboard Sally Scott’s Cornet of Follyfoot.
Navigating flawlessly through the initial two rounds, Pavitt faced 11 competitors in the jump-off. Laura Mantel and Chacoons Gisa Blue Z set the pace and led for much of the second jump-off, but Pavitt's speedy round secured the win. Clocking a time of 39.35 seconds, Pavitt edged out second-place Laura Mantel by 1.62 seconds, with Holly Smith and Nike Van Het Singraven securing 3rd place.
“We were last to go; I’d already gone round on one as I followed Laura in on my first ride, I was 3 seconds faster but had a fence down, so I knew the route I wanted to take but took my time a little more.”
Nicole, who has already qualified Cornet of Follyfoot for the British Showjumping Newcomer Final continued: “I’ve had him about a year and half. We won the Newcomer Masters and Big Star Final at Stoneleigh and he went on to win Newcomer Final at HOYS with Louise, as I was out of action”
“I’ve always called him Mr Consistent because you know you’re always there or there abouts with him. He was unlucky not to win it at Dallas Burston, I was two seconds faster than the winner but touched the back pole of the last fence, so I was a bit gutted, but glad to have the qualification now!”
