Ruby Barrs claims second place in her first Under 25 1.45m Grand Prix in the Czech Republic

Ruby Barrs netted second place in the Under 25 Grand Prix with Jacqueline Barrs’ Guinot Di Nocciola at Zduchovice’s Youth Event in the Czech Republic.

Only three riders negotiated the 1.45m track cleanly to access the jump-off with Ruby posting the steadiest of the two double clears on the Vigo D’Arsouilles x Lux Z 13-year-old to finish in the runner-up position 1.68 seconds behind the winner, Czech Republic’s Mariana Michlickova on Leeve Jung 2.

“It was my first 1.45m so it was quite daunting. The track was strong and the last line of a skinny vertical four strides to a double was the most difficult but he’s so easy and level and he jumped well here,” said Ruby, who got the ride on Guinot last July and quickly established a partnership.
