Tillie Davies secures place at Hickstead final with victory in the UNIBED – High Performance Equine Bedding Grades B&C Qualifier

Tillie Davies has joined the ranks of riders who have earned their spot in the highly anticipated UNIBED – High Performance Equine Bedding Winter Grades B&C Championship Final. With an outstanding performance aboard her own and Jenny Davies' Croft CV, Tillie emerged victorious despite fierce competition.

In the jump-off, Tillie displayed exceptional skill, finishing a remarkable 1.59 seconds ahead of second-place rider Anthony Condon and SFS Houdini, who claimed the other Hickstead finalist ticket.

Reflecting on how she felt going into the jump off, Tillie commented “I achieved my goal by going clear in the first round, so felt I had done my bit and was relaxed going in, which I think helped."

Tillie and Croft CV began their partnership four years ago when Tillie purchased the then seven-year-old horse from Heathcroft Stud. They started together in British Showjumping Discovery classes and have progressed through the ranks under the guidance of Carmen Edwards to where they are today. "My trainer, Carmen Edwards, plays a crucial role in keeping me calm, relaxed, and confident when it is my turn to go."

Tillie will now prepare to compete for the championship title at Hickstead in July, where she hopes Croft CV, fondly referred to as ‘Rae’ at home, can follow in her mother, Croft Loretta’s footsteps, who was the Winter Novice Champion back in 2001.

"She was bred by Adrian Marsh at Heathcroft Stud, who is always present at shows. It's nice to have them there, watching and witnessing her performance today," Tillie expressed.
