Will Fletcher Triumphs in the Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Dallas Burston

The Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Championship Second Rounds continued this weekend at Dallas Burston, a fiercely contested event where riders vied to qualify their horses for the Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show in October.

Comprising three rounds of competition, 64 combinations entered the arena for the first round. Of these, 23 secured clear rounds to progress to the second round, and 16 advanced to the jump-off. The tension mounted during the nail-biting jump-off, with Will Fletcher narrowly clinching the win aboard Alison Walton’s 8-year-old Qian Van Heiste. Stopping the clock in 40.10 seconds, Fletcher edged ahead by a mere 0.47 seconds, leaving Danielle Farnsworth and Lotus WL in second place.

Reflecting on his victory, Fletcher remarked, “He’s a fantastic horse, a complete dream to ride. He’s as good a horse as I have ever ridden, and I am so lucky to have the opportunity to ride him. We can’t wait to see what’s coming up for him - the world is his oyster. The feeling he gives you is not normal, he soars over the jumps, there really aren’t many horses who can jump like that.”

“He can do anything,” Fletcher continued. “He’s proved he’s very quick, winning at Wales and West a couple of weeks ago. He’s careful, quick, and I know he can go on to do whatever he wants to do. I’ve had him for 8 months, and he ended last year with 28 clear rounds in succession. He just doesn’t like touching fences, which is a very nice characteristic to have! He’s got every chance to win the final. I haven’t won it yet, and it would be lovely to try and get the win with him.”

Redpost Equestrian have supported the Championship Final for many years, this year they extend their support to the entire series.
