Jan 2022 - The Jump North Tour: Four Tournaments – Two Venues
Sunday 02 January 2022
The Jump North Tour is a first-of-a-kind, joint offering from Northcote Stud and Aintree International Equestrian Centre.
Providing four British Showjumping events that will run in succession the Jump North Tour will allow members to travel to the North of England and have the opportunity to compete at two Category 2 shows and two Category 3 shows. Riders will also be able to enjoy some great northern hospitality, with the uniqueness and history that Aintree brings and the family feel of Northcote, with their new Saddle Lounge bar and clubhouse. Both venues are fully indoors and have stables and lorry parking on hardstanding.
Each of the four events will have a different FEI course designer working with them each week and there will be more than £50,000 in prize money on offer across the tour. Throughout the series there will also be a leading rider bonus award across each of the three levels as follows:
1. Bronze Leading Rider Bonus - £250
For classes below 1.10m
Points earned across 2 venues at the first 2 legs of the tour - 11th to 13th January (Aintree) and 14th to 16th January (Northcote) . This will be awarded at Northcote on 16th January
2. Silver Leading Rider Bonus - £500
For classes below 1.10m to 1.20m
Points earned across 2 venues at all 4 legs of the tour. This will be awarded at Aintree on 30th January
3. Gold Leading Rider Bonus - £1000
For classes above 1.20m
Points earned across 2 venues at all 4 legs of the tour. This will be awarded at Aintree on 30th January.
In each applicable competition, the winner will receive 15 points, 2nd place 14 points and this scale will continue down the leaderboard.
Adam Cromarty, Event Director for Northcote Stud said “Winter tours have been running successfully both in Europe and North America for some time. The typical venue infrastructure we have in Great Britain alongside our unpredictable winter weather would make a carbon copy prohibitive, but I think there is an opportunity for venues to work collaboratively to provide something similar on home soil. These events will see a variety of competition that is suited to see top national sport and to encourage progression for younger horses. With both venues providing top class facilities, substantial prize money and great hospitality, I really hope to see this as the start of an on-going unity between ourselves at Northcote Stud and Aintree.”
Carly Sage, Manager for Aintree International Equestrian Centre said “We are delighted to kick start the new year with the inaugural Jump North Tour, alongside Northcote Stud. With top class facilities, excellent prize money and leading rider bonuses, we hope that this new initiative will be well supported by riders from all over the country.”

Planning your trip
Between Jump North IIand Jump North III, there will be a 2-day break. Stabling and exercise arenas will be made available at Northcote Stud and both the Bridle Cafe and Saddle Lounge bar will be available.
Jump North III (Northcote Stud) will also incorporate a British Showjumping Winter Classic. This is a great opportunity for riders to qualify for the British Showjumping Spring Championships, at the venue where the finals will be contested in March.
Covid-19 Protocols
Jump North III (Northcote Stud) will also include a gala evening on the Saturday, where members of the public will be invited to enjoy our sport, assuming current Covid-19 restrictions allow it.
Both venues are experienced in running major events and will be following any changes in government guidance closely. Riders should book stables and enter with the confidence that should any change in restrictions prevent events from running, all entries and stabling fees will be automatically returned without delay
