Abigail Leadbetter and Hearts Cruise win the Equissage Pulse Senior British Novice Championship Final

Taking place in Championship Arena 1 this morning, the Equissage Pulse Senior British Novice Championship final welcomed 46 horse/rider combinations forward for a challenging course.

Luckily 6-year-old Hearts Cruise, Zi at home, had speed on their side, and the combination were awarded first place after taking on the technical course. The winning combination shaved a second off the next best time to steal the lead from the 27 clears who went through to the jump off from round one..

Abigail explained she was “overwhelmed at the win! Because she’s [Zi] so small she can be short-striding at times, so I kept pushing her. I wasn’t very happy with my first round, then I watched the jump off and watched Emma go so quick, but I thought, ‘I can get that’. I’m so proud of her, she’s incredible!”

Following closely behind, Emma Jo Slater, riding Kalisha H, took second place, with Rebecca Mason and Rarity coming in third.
