Allana Clutterbuck wins the Wierden Young Rider Grand Prix

Riding under the title sponsored umbrella of Team NAF this afternoon at the Dutch Youngster Festival in Wierden, The Netherlands, the British Young Riders put in some superb performances to claim two of the top three places in their respective Grand Prix. This saw them follow the lead of the Pony riders who had done the same earlier in the day.
It was 19 year-old Allana Clutterbuck from Upminster, Essex with Sally Lane’s 11 year-old bay gelding Vykinbay that set the field alight when they posted a jump off in a time of 43.08 seconds to claim the win. Their time was one that others just couldn’t even come close to with their nearest rival coming in the form of Wiktoria Bedynska (POL) with Lacoste 142 who crossed the finish line almost two seconds slower at 44.91.
Will Edwards, fresh from his Young Rider victory at the British Showjumping National Championships last week, also ensured his place high up in the line-up when he delivered a clear in 45.55 seconds. Riding the 10 year-old SHW Candies B owned by his father Carl he posted an impressive clear to secure his 3rd place finish. British rider Antonia Platt with Marvin van de Waterhoeve also made it through to the eight-strong jump-off with her first round clear. However two fences down, albeit in a fast time, saw her move down the line-up to finish in 7.
