Arabella Haynes and Georgiana RD Secure Nupafeed Senior Discovery Second Round Success at Hartpury

Arabella Haynes booked her place at the British Showjumping National Championships after claiming victory in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Hartpury University Show.

A competitive field of 36 rider and horse combinations came forward to tackle Krissy Spiller's flowing track, with riders aiming to secure one of the coveted qualification places for next month's National Championships. Twelve combinations produced faultless performances over the opening two rounds to earn their place in the deciding jump-off.

Setting a confident pace against the clock, Arabella Haynes delivered the fastest clear round aboard her own Georgiana RD, stopping the clock in 50.69 seconds to take the win and secure qualification for the Championship Final.

Second place went to Erin Jennings riding Emerello S.L, who also produced a polished clear round in 54.71 seconds, while Phoebe Bolton completed the podium with Jagger Van Arenberg, crossing the finish clear in 56.43 seconds.

With the Final now just around the corner, all qualified combinations will head to the British Showjumping National Championships in August, where they will compete for the coveted Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship title.

“I’m delighted with the win and a bit shocked really. This is my first Discovery second round ever and the mare has been off form so we only went to see if she would go in the ring and jump. I have had Geogiana for 18 months, she’s taking over from my older horses. She was a bit accident prone when we first had her so didn’t get much turn out as it was wet but once she could be horse a bit more she settled. We have taken our time getting to know each other. It’s all about trust.

We were drawn last and she jumped beautifully in the first round, we warmed up for the second round, she was a bit spicey, bucked and pulled her front shoe off. Luckily there was a farrier on site, so I held the class up getting it put back on, then she jumped clear. I’d watched a few go and there were no clears so thought I’d just got for the triple clear, but she is naturally very quick over a fence. We look a stride out and got some inside turns, as I was going to the last fence I heard my youngest child shout ‘Go Mummy’! It all went beyond my expectations on what we had gone there for but we just went with it and we went into the lead. I couldn’t be more pleased with Georgiana.

We are looking forward to going to the Nationals, it wasn’t expected so I will have to juggle work now.” reflected Arabella.
