Celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

This week we are not only celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee but also commemorating 70 years of her Patronage of British Showjumping.

The Queen’s passion for equestrianism began as a young girl when she began riding lessons in 1931, age 5. Not only is she a keen rider herself, she has had a lifelong enthusiasm for racing and horse sport, being the mother of a European eventing champion, Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, our Vice-Patron, and grandmother to European and World eventing champion, Zara Tindall.

Chief Executive of British Showjumping, Iain Graham said: “As a sport we have a lot to be very proud of and are truly honoured to be celebrating seven decades of patronage from a Her Majesty The Queen.”
