Four Horses Gain Qualification to Contend for the Big Star Trophy in the Prestige Italia Big Star Championship Qualifier at Arena UK

This week, Arena UK was full of showjumping action, including the final Prestige Italia Big Star Championship Qualifier. Twenty-two combinations came forward to navigate their horses through three courses, aiming for a treble clear to qualify for the Prestige Italia Six-Year-Old Championship Final at the Young Horse Show, taking place at Hickstead in August.

The four combinations to achieve triple clears were:

Jessica Botham & One Valerie
Alice Watson & Extra Zest TH
Adam Morgan & Othello XI
Honey Bowes & NFS Tiloubet

Riders in the Prestige Italia Six-Year-Old Championship will compete for the Big Star Trophy, awarded in honour of Nick Skelton’s 2016 Olympic gold medal winner. Any horse jumping a treble clear in one of the four Big Star qualifiers held between May and July will automatically be eligible for the £1,000 Big Star Bonus, which will be awarded in the Final.
