More HOYS Tickets Won at Kelsall Hill Summer Pony Premier Show

Kelsall Hill played host to a spectacular weekend of elite pony showjumping at their Summer Pony Premier Show. Riders from across the country competed fiercely for a coveted qualification to the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS), and the atmosphere was electric as top young talent rose to the challenge with thrilling performances and well-deserved victories.
In the Enablelink 128cm HOYS Qualifier, 36 combinations took on the 1.10m track, with six producing the clear rounds needed to set the stage for an exciting jump-off. Anya Dewey-Clark continued her impressive run of success, claiming her third 128cm qualifier win of the year aboard Anna Clarke’s Kilcreene Snapdragon. The on-form pair raced through the finish line in a time of 44.56 seconds, 2.85 seconds ahead of second-placed Victoria Neachell, who was riding Zara Neachell’s Just Ozzie. Lilly Mae Waldron slotted into third with Shannon Webster’s Castlepark Giant, finishing a further 8.47 seconds in arrears.
Next up was the Demolition Services Ltd Pony Showjumper of the Year Qualifier. Twenty-eight riders came forward to tackle the challenging 1.35m course, of which two proved it could be done and earned a place in the jump-off. Opting to save their ponies for another day, Hollie Gerken aboard Jade Gerken’s Livewire VI and Cate Kerr with John Roberts’ Cosmic Girl chose to share the spoils of first place rather than compete in a jump-off. Nya Lily Harriman took home third place with Ian Harriman’s Cindy VI as the fastest combination with four faults in round one.
On Sunday, it was the turn of the 138cm riders in the CT Equine Collection 138cm HOYS Qualifier. Thirty-three combinations came forward, with six unlocking the clear rounds needed to advance to round two. As four combinations chose to withdraw and share third place, it came down to a head-to-head competition between Phoebe Crossman and Olivia Lewington for top honours. Posting the only double clear of the class, Phoebe Crossman rode Claire Crossman’s Sparkling Mr Gucci into first place, while Olivia Lewington guided Victoria Lewington’s Lemony Snicket To Corrie Dhu into second. Third place was shared between Phoebe Crossman with Gethyn Mills’ Jimdone, Ella Kay riding David Wicks’ Icaris W, Phoebe Crossman again aboard Gethyn Mills’ Latoons Full Back, and Mollie Joscelyne with Caroline Dent’s Sligo De Mormal.
