Joseph Trunkfield wins the Winter Grand Prix at Solihull Winter Classic

This weekend saw Solihull Riding Club host their Winter Classic Show with the Winter Grand Prix taking place yesterday, Sunday 6th February, when victory was taken by Leicestershire-based Joseph Trunkfield with TJ Hall Limited’s Grennanstown Sarco Luxhill.

Of the nineteen starters, eight combinations cleared the 1.40m table A10 track set by Lisa Kelly, with Joseph proceeding to the jump-off with both of his rides. With a couple of tight turns and a long run down to the last, Joseph stopped the clock 34.81 seconds with no jumping penalties, with just shy of three seconds in-hand to take the win. Joseph also took fourth place with and Senators Rhondaigo, owned by Deborah Lax.

Second place went to Helen Tredwell aboard Sebastian VII, owned by Colin Garratt, with a double clear in 37.73 seconds. Joao Charlesworth took third place with Teza Englefield’s Lex Lokoda, with a double clear in 41.01 seconds.
